All about Tanner
This handsome boy is full of love and looking for a great family to call his own.  He is a quiet, well-mannered fella' who has very nice house manners, follows direction well and is a sweet Newf who is eager to please.

Tanner knows his basic commands and is a happy, easy-going boy.  His leash manners are coming along with a positive training approach.  He's an intelligent boy who is quick to learn, motivated to please, and would be a great candidate for obedience work, working dog activities like water rescue, draft work and more.

Tanner has been living with another sweet and mellow dog and Tanner has been friendly and appropriate with him. He is polite, curious, follows his new friend around and takes cues from him well. Good boy Tanner!

He has done well meeting other dog out on walks, although does get a bit excited -- he is eager to play!  Tanner should be fine living with another dog who is well mannered and non-reactive, and who might like to play nicely with him.

He has not been cat tested, but has shown a keen interest in squirrels! Silly boy.
He could potentially join a home with a dog savvy cat who has access to a dog free area in the house, and owners who are willing to put some work into his manners around the cat.
Tanner has not been exposed to young children.  He is a happy, goofy boy and does get excited when people come to visit, so a home without very young kids is best.  He is improving in his manners greeting people in foster care, but still has some work to do.

Tanner is healthy and up to date on vaccines and neutered.  His blood work was good. He is ready to join an adoptive home now.
He is being fostered in Thornhill, ON.  His approved adopters will be required to pick him up in person.  An adoption donation of $500 will apply.

To be considered for adopting a dog through Newf Friends please submit a completed application, which can be found on the CONTACT US/FORMS page. Before completing an application or emailing us with questions, please review our FAQ page.  As outlined on our FAQ page, applicants who do not meet our adoption requirements (ie. no fenced play area, living in an apartment building, having young children, etc.) will not be considered -- please do not email us asking us to make an exception.
