Update - January 19, 2011

Things have not slowed down the last few days and we have yet another new addition to the Newf Friends rescue program.

Meet Bear, a sweet and friendly 8 year old male who was turned over to us last night. He will be getting settled into a foster home this week and the enormous job of grooming him out will begin. Details will follow.

Penelope and Lily, aka The Dynamic Duo, have landed in foster care and are getting settled. These 14 month old sisters are in need of some vet care including spay surgery, and Penelope (the landseer) will require corrective surgery for cherry eye in both eyes.
These adorable girls are in need of extensive socialization and training. Both are fearful in new situations and need to learn basic obedience, basic commands and house manners (ahem, Lily, we mean YOU!)
We will be separating the girls and placing them into two different foster homes because they tend to increase each others anxiety, and they both need some directed one-on-one work to help socialize them.
Bios will be posted shortly.

7 month old Harold is settling into his foster home and doing great. He is a lovable, gentle, well mannered boy. Treatments for his chronic skin issues have begun, but he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Test results should be arriving today. His bio can be read here.

Mackenzie is doing well recovering from her spay and cherry eye surgery. Her spay incision looks terrific, and her eye is healing well so far. Fingers and paws crosed that she will not need another surgery! This adorable girl is full of love and is a happy, gentle, playful girl that wants a family to call her own. Read her bio to learn more about her!

Charlie is doing great in his foster home, all healed up from neuter surgery and ready to join a new family. We have a possible home for him, pending a successful home visit tonight. Update to follow. Charlie's bio can be found here.

Ruby the love bug is all healed up from her life saving emergency surgery. She has an adoption pending, joining her new family on Thursday. Lucky girl!

We are rapidly using up our funds paying for the extensive medical needs of the dogs that have come into our program. Donations will be desperately needed to help us cover the costs of surgery for our new arrivals. To donate please visit HART's Canada Helps page and when making your donation state in the message section that the donation is for the Newf Friends Fund.
